CHEVY CHASE, MARYLAND – Shopping center leasing, management, and development company JBG Rosenfeld Retail (JBGR) added two, new faces to its team of real estate professionals in recent months, most recently with the hiring of Kasey Valeda and Grier Buchanan.  Valeda, who joined JBGR from Brighter Minds Media in Worthington, OH, is a marketing and leasing assistant, while Buchanan joined the acquisitions and development team as a financial analyst.  Both are employed at the company’s Chevy Chase headquarters office.

 “Kasey and Grier are fine additions to our team,” said JBGR Principal Jim Garibaldi.  “As our business grows, we continue to seek out quality talent to help drive our business forward, and these two individuals possess all the qualities necessary to succeed.  We look forward to their continued growth with the company.”

 A 2007 graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Communication Analysis and General Business, Valeda provides general administrative support to the leasing and marketing departments at JBGR, including updates of property information and convention marketing materials.  Throughout her college career, she completed more than 400 hours of community service in the Columbus area, holding leadership positions with various campus organizations that encouraged community service.  Valeda is a native of Olney, Maryland.

 As a financial analyst, Buchanan is responsible for the underwriting and pro forma modeling of potential acquisitions and retail and mixed-use developments in the JBGR pipeline, among other duties.  Previously, he served as an associate for Darala Investment & Development Corporation, and was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley, both in the District of Columbia.  Buchanan holds a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University, where he graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the men’s lacrosse team.
