JBG ROSENFELD RETAIL TAPPED TO LEASE 100,000 SF OF NEW RETAIL DEVELOPMENT RETAIL NEWS
CHEVY CHASE, MARYLAND – The landlord representation practice for shopping center leasing, management, and development company JBG Rosenfeld Retail (JBGR) received a 100,000 square-foot boost recently with the addition of two new retail developments in Hagerstown, Maryland and Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The Villages at Hagerstown and Shops at Norland are the first listings for JBGR in the two outlying markets, each boasting approximately 50,000 square feet of gross leasable area. “These two developments provide us with a great opportunity to expand our landlord representation practice in Western Maryland and Central Pennsylvania,” said JBGR Executive Vice President Bob Schwenger. “As the residential boom continues in these markets, retail services will need to keep pace, as evidenced by the addition of the Villages at Hagerstown and Shops at Norland. Located at Holly Hock and Broadfording Roads, just off I-81 in Washington County, Maryland, the Villages at Hagerstown development is a 16-acre site to feature up to 50,000 square feet of space on 12 pad sites. In addition to the retail there is proposed a 75-room hotel on a portion of the site. The development is within a quarter mile of approximately 1,000 new and existing residences, and adjacent to the Centre at Hagerstown, featuring Dick’s Sporting Goods, Circuit City, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and others. The Shops at Norland will feature nearly 39,000 square feet of inline retail space in two buildings, as well as three pad buildings ranging in size from 2,500 to 4,900 square feet. The retail development, which is visible from I-81 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, will be located on a newly-constructed stretch of Norland Avenue where it intersects with Walker Road. The Shops at Norland and Villages of Hagerstown are developments of Venetian Investments, LLC.
