CHEVY CHASE, MARYLAND – Capitol Hill welcomed its first, new grocery store in years at Jenkins Row last month, and now two, additional tenants are lined up to open at the mixed-use retail and residential development.  JBG Rosenfeld Retail (JBGR), a Chevy Chase-based shopping center leasing, management, and development company charged with leasing the retail space at the 250-unit condominium project, recently secured leases with Subway and Signal Financial Federal Credit Union for a total of approximately 3,200 square feet.  The retailers, which are scheduled to open this summer, will front Potomac Avenue, adjacent to the new, 46,000 square-foot Harris Teeter grocery store.  JBGR secured the lease with Harris Teeter in 2006.

“Capitol Hill has long been an attractive residential neighborhood,” said JBGR Principal Grant Ehat, “and the entrance of the Jenkins Row development further adds to its charm.  Factor in the allure of a high-end grocer like Harris Teeter, a new crop of convenience retailers, and the nearby Metro stations, and neighborhood residents have the entire city at their doorstep.  We are pleased to be playing a role in this exciting project.”  Located in the “Capitol Hill East” area, Jenkins Row was developed by JPI of Irving, Texas.  Currently, there is one retail space remaining, a 1,500 square-foot space with outdoor seating capacity at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Potomac Avenues.  For additional information, visit www.jbgr.com/properties
